We hope you have had a safe Summer break and made some fabulous memories.

Returning to school can be a fun and exciting time, but we understand that for some people it will be an anxious time. Please contact your child's teacher on Class Dojo in the first instance if you have any issues you want to discuss. We will do all we can to ensure your child starts school in a positive way. Covid updates

As we return to school in September, please be assured the safety of our children, families and staff remains our number one priority. As the country moves to Step 4 of the roadmap, the government will continue to manage the risk of serious illness from the spread of the virus. This marks a new phase in the government’s response to the pandemic, moving away from stringent restrictions on everyone’s day-to-day lives, towards advising people on how to protect themselves and others, alongside targeted interventions to reduce risk. As COVID-19 becomes a virus that we learn to live with, there is now an imperative to reduce the disruption to children and young people’s education - particularly given that the direct clinical risks to children are extremely low, and every adult has been offered a first vaccine and the opportunity for two doses by mid-September.

Our full operating procedures and supporting risk assessments are available to view in the COVID-19 page. CLICK HERE to view

Mixing and bubbles: At Step 4 it is no longer recommend that it is necessary to keep children in consistent groups (‘bubbles’). This means that bubbles will not need to be used in the academy from the autumn term. We will be returning to whole school gatherings, such as assemblies. Pupils will also be returning to participating in indoor PE and eating their lunch in the hall.

From 19 July, the government removed the requirement to wear face coverings in law but expects and recommends that they are worn in enclosed and crowded spaces where you may come into contact with people you don't normally meet. As such, we politely request parents wear a face covering when entering our front entrance area to visit the office.

Control measures: Please be assured we will be keeping a number of control measures in place. This includes ensuring good hygiene for everyone, maintaining our additional cleaning regimes, keeping spaces well ventilated and following public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19. Staff will continue with the programme of twice weekly asymptomatic testing. We will continue to provide a remote learning offer for any pupil requiring to self-isolate.

If you have any further questions before the start of term, please do not hesitate to contact us on

We look forward to a fabulous year of learning ahead!
